3월 23일 Little HelperMy arm works again, yes, yipity do da and yee he he. I had to get a second surgery to remove a huge chunk of abnormal bone growth. For the last four months I have been unable to use my left arm and I am left handed. My arm was getting more and more painful 24/7and I was not sleeping very good. Needless to say I was getting a bit grumpy and depressed. On March 11th I had surgery, when I woke up I looked at my hand and could see my palm. I was so excided as that was the first time in four months that I could do that. After 1 week the swelling and pain was gone and I can now move it almost 100%. I can once again type with two hands. Too bad my spelling is just as impaired as always ha ha. The doctor said I still am not supposed to lift over 5lbs with the arm. That is imposable for me too adhere to completely with a very rambunctious 35lb two year old around. I just hope I get through this with out messing up the repair. I am back in physical therapy twice a week. Now that it does not include excruciating (almost to the point of passing out) pain it is almost enjoyable. This weekend Kelby helped me with some light gardening. We pulled, raked up and piled all the dead vegetation from last year. Kelby’s job was to put handfuls of it on the pile. After we were done he laid down on the pile and closed his eyes. I asked him what he was doing he said “my helping, hard work, my tired”. The neighbor has donkeys, sheep, lama’s, ducks and geese so going over to the property line is like going to the zoo. Last night at bed time Kelby told KayLynn “I wanna see momma” so of course KayLynn said I’m right here, he said no I wanna see momma. I over heard the conversation and had to tell mommy that Kelby didn’t want to see her he wanted to see the lama. Sorry to say it was a let down for her. Last weekend we started serious/full time potty training. He has gone a few days through daycare completely dry and he went all weekend with a dry diaper/pull-ups even through church, going out to eat breakfast, and grocery shopping. We had to go on lots of false alarms to the rest room but I guess that’s all part of the learning process. Public restrooms sure do look a lot grosser when you have a toddler that wants to touch everything, yuk. That’s all for now. Hopefully now that I have a working and pain free arm I will keep this blog more up to date.
